Navigating Tic Disorders Together And Unlocking Your Child's Potential
A Unique Non-pharmacological Approach
The educational method I use was developed in 1953. It has been refined and adapted since, helping thousands of children, adolescents and adults in the past seven decades. The goal of the method is to reach a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, motoric and speech developmental potential.
The method is based on the work with both children and their parents. The expert transfers skills and knowledge to parents/caregivers, improving their capabilities for everyday work with their child.

A Holistic Approach to Understanding Tic Disorders in Children
The method I use assumes that by learning and performing a large number of repetitions of the exercises in a certain order, they may redirect the existing connections in the brain. In this way, the exercises utilise the general mechanisms by which the brain modifies its control of the activity of both large muscle groups, as well as those involved in fine and precise movements. This serves to extinguish the bad patterns of movement control and establish the healthy ones.
During the sessions, it is important to practice maintaining attention and concentration during the conscious contraction, as well as during conscious progressive relaxation, levelling the ratio of activity of the systems for promoting (“gas”) and suppressing (“brake”) movements. The imbalance in those systems is involved in the genesis of tics and the exercises serve to re-establish that balance.
People Behind the Method
“The method I use helps children to extinguish the bad patterns of connections between nerve cells and establish the healthy ones.”
